Amgen's Romiplostim (Nplate) has undocumented side effects including death

It's been nearly two years now and I just wanted to share this information with the ITP community in the hopes of protecting others from experiencing the devastating loss that I and the family of my late wife have had to endure.

Amgen’s Romiplostim (Nplate) was directly responsible for causing the death of my 34-year old wife who had ITP. What’s even more disturbing is the biological events related to her death are completely undocumented by Amgen and not shared with the public as possible side effects; that and the effects of the drug were so devastating on her body that she went from perfectly healthy to complete system shutdown (and cellular decay) in less than two months. This included complete renal failure, multiple watershed strokes (rendering her vegetative), lung failure, and other complete system shutdowns.

The damage was so extensive, lead pathologists could not figure out what the exact cause of death was. One of the most prominent pathologists in the country (and possibly world) personally examined tissue samples and said that they had never seen anything like it before in their life, which included some strange mineralization buildup in the brain tissue they could not identify. It was so unique their peers didn’t believe the findings to be true. Amgen’s Nplate (Romiplostim) caused this. The pathologist agreed, but didn’t know exactly “how”.

It’s been shared as common knowledge that Nplate is directly related to (and possibly causes) Antiphospholipid syndrome; but what happened to my wife was far beyond this. The drug destroyed her at a cellular level, and only a few months after she started taking it. But the fact that people in this community know that Nplate causes Antiphospholipid syndrome yet Amgen fails to list that as a possible side effect proves the company is knowingly withholding side effects.

I reported what happened to my wife in detail to the FDA. Nothing. I spoke with many top tier lawfirms in the country about bringing suit against Amgen. I quickly learned the evidentiary requirements for pursuing such a case are nearly impossible to achieve, thus ensuring companies like Amgen can continue their activities unimpeded and unaccountable.

The only recourse I have to help save lives and inform the public of these issues is what I’m doing right here. Please spread the word – Amgen’s Nplate (Romiplostim) is not safe, and the company is not sharing all of the possible side effects (which include death and celluar decay at a level that’s unprecedented).
