The lack transfusing platelets seems to be doing you some good. I'm really happy that you're having a positive trend now as opposed to being stuck in the single digits.

Diagnosed: August 2013, lowest count 2k.
Treatments: IVIG, Prednisone, transfusions.
Current Count: 233k, 12/23/2013.
Currently: Watching/waiting.

Amber,
This is really great!! It seems like some of your treatments may be starting to work! And, it's good that you don't have to have those transfusions.

Take care and rest up!

Hi, I've gone through with all your updates. Hope you are feeling fine now. My wife is also hospitalized from last 7 days count are fluctuatings between 10k to 8k.
Day before yesterday she had her first dose of rituxi, next morning count was 20k but again count relapsed to 10k today morning. Doctor asked to wait and watch, any idea what is the response time of rituxi after first infusion.

Thanks, Yogesh

10K yesterday have to go get re check tomorrow morning and he said if I have any symptoms I have to go to ER to be admitted for spleen removal. I have an appointment with doctor on Tuesday morning 11/26/13 and if my numbers don't change I'm sure at that point he will admit me for surgery.

Oh no! Your numbers seemed to be doing so well. Really sorry to hear they're down again :-(

How do you feel about surgery? I saw one of your older posts questioning splenectomy & whether it might or might no be for you.

I don't know what else to say hun! You've had such a hard time lately - you don't deserve this x

Doctors office just called back and yes I am low on iron. But the doctor will go over things on Tuesday with me (like iron transfusion). But I am still getting CBC in morning, who knows he made have them do one tomorrow. ??

Amber, I got teary-eyed over your bad news. You have been through so much and struggled so hard, and we were all so hopeful for you that you had finally found the right answer. There are still lots of options, including splenectomy, so you will need to stay focused on making the next best choice for you, and not let it get you down. We are all in your corner!

Rob

I just want to get back to a normal life. At least now I know why I am always cold and tired. Now I'm set up for iron infusions, 12/5 & 12/12, but still don't know what the doctor is going to say next week. I was thinking since he wants to see me next week and we already talked about that he wants to be working on the day he admits me that it will happen next week (spleen removal). But since I am set up for iron in December don't know now...????

Amber,

If you would like I could come and scare the lab techs and we could what ever counts you would like! I am so sorry that you seem to be back on the roller coaster again. I am sorry. BUT! I am optimistic that all will be fine!

You go and relax, do not stress on this. You have been lower on counts and you have been through much. I dont want you to be adding stress to the mess. (I kind of liked that last phrase, kind of catchy!)

I so want you to get good numbers! Think Positive! I have 42k I can e-mail you 21k if you like! B)
I am thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Stay in touch!

Jeffrey
