I think you should definitely give up running forever. Your knees have made their points! Very glad you are doing so well. You're a trooper.

Just a minor set back Roberta! :) I will be back soon! I am going to give up most of the long runs, 1/2 marathons and up.

You must really need to do it, then. More power to you! I hope it works out well for you.

I ran about 30 yards on the knee today. Felt real solid! I go back to the surgeon on Tuesday for a check up a release!

I admire anyone who does hard exercise regularly. Wish I were one of those people. Seems to me that a need to move is born in. One of my sons was a non-mover when he was little; one needed to MOVE. It's the same thing 40 years later. The son that wouldn't sit in a stroller is very active, loves hard physical labor, etc. The one that would have let us carry him on our backs til he was 15, is still a non-mover.

Good Evening!

I had my first post operative visit with my surgeon today. He was happy with his work as was I. The damage was severe to the patella and tibia base. It may or not recover. I am cleared to rehab the knee and do what I would like but he told me that I am candidate for at least a partial knee replacement fairly soon. I told him that I would be his patient as long as it was feasible and that I was very pleased with him, and that I would do what my body dictated. I also told him that I was NOT headed for the porch and a rocking chair, ITP, bad knees, sore back and no Kate Upton was not going to deter me. I was going to do what I could for as long as a could and that I would probably impose on him from time to time for a tune up!

Anyway, today I got on my spinner bike road a few miles, got on the elliptical and ran a mile, then rode my race bike through the addition. Pretty good evening! Back to the surgeon in a month for a final release. I hope everyone is having a good evening!

I have swam the river there! Not the best water! LOL But it was fun! I will let you know! I will probably do a triathlon there next season. I worked for a firm out of Cincy until they found out about my ITP. I have always liked Cincy!
