That sounds like I felt after Ivig. I had it for 3 days in a row, was fine the first day and then felt awful after the others.
Hope you feel better tomorrow.

I felt that way after the one and only ivig treatment I had. And sadly lasted a few days, I believe I wasn't hydrated enough and didn't make myself drink eough after... Maybe ensure you drink as much as you can.. But sure hope it passes with a good night sleep for you! Good luck with the surgery... Happy thoughts of recovery sent your way! From both the ivig and the knee surgery soon!!!

Sorry about the pain....yikes! Relax until Thursday Jeffrey. They'll have it all fixed shortly.

I thought you lived in the mid-west? 'Superman' is British these days. :)

You neglected one thing on your doctor checklist; "Before leaving the O.R., where's your watch?"

Is Linda Ellerbee still doing 'Nick News' now?

That's the way I felt after IVIG, too; but only after I had my spleen out. Go figure, eh? Feel better soon!

Hope it's not aseptic meningitis. It goes away after a few days, but isn't very pleasant going through it. IVIG can be wicked.

Good Evening!

Well that last 2 days I will not forget for a bit. I am certain that I was ran over by a truck. I had a bad headache for 2 days, chills, a low grade fever, and a very queasy stomach. Not much fun! Those of you that have had IVIG reactions, can I join the club?

Today I feel 100% better! Not too bad at all, tired and wrung out but much much better! I go to my Oncologist tomorrow and get a CBC. I hope it is good or no surgery. The last time I responded quite well, 579. Anyway I will get see the nurse prac. and that is always a good day! Yes, again, I am that shallow! LOL And,You know with all this crap, getting good and sick and the bill being around 70k, you have got to laugh at something! Might as will be me! LOL

That you all for the kind wishes! I cherish you all!

Jeffrey

Good Afternoon!

I got a CBC today and the counts are at 321K! So I am good to go in the morning! I have to be at the hospital @ 5:00AM and surgery @ 7:00 AM. My surgeon called me and told me no epidural, just nite nite stuff, which I am really good with!

just got another call from my surgeon's office and he would like me to bring a copy of my CBC with me tomorrow so he can review. My doc was supposed to send one to him. I give up! I repeat, BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE! Depend on no one but yourself!

Anyway, I will try to get back on line later, but I have to mow the yard tonight. It will be a bit before I can do it again.

With platelets that high maybe you should postpone surgery and go bungee jumping or rock climbing instead!

That's terrific news. I pray you have even better news tomorrow.

Ok you just had to one-up me didn't you and have your surgery first ;)

Wow, now that is a platelet count - geeze! One thing I like about my HMO, it's all on the computer for them to see - so my CBC will be there for the surgeon to see but my count sure isn't as good as yours.

Break a leg [so to speak] tomorrow - will be thinking of you!

Good Evening All!

Surgery went well! I had a fair amount of damage. Large meniscus tear, a lot of level 3 arthritis, and various other things in there that were not supposed to be there. I had also worn a grove in the tibia plateau from bone on bone contact. Anyway, it has been repaired with success. Doc told me to give up the long distance running. I will probably obey this time. So far I have not taken anything for pain. I have a little discomfort at the incision sites (4 I think) and a fair amount of swelling, thigh to toes. I was given a general anesthetic and it was a smooth experience. Something that I would like to point out again is that my surgeon said no spinal block, epidural (which I had for the left knee repair). Bleeding in the knee with ITP is one thing, bleeding in the spinal column with ITP is another! Important safety tip! LOL The staff and nurses were great! The surgery took 1 hours which is a long one for a knee. I believe I was the surgeons first ITP patient. I really put that boy through the hoops just messing with him. He was a great, and talented, guy! He is a Steelers fan, so there are still things he needs to learn! I would use him again and recommend him highly!

A topic for you all! My last IVIG my count went to 579 then tapered down over the next 8 weeks to my normal 20 to 40. This time my counts only went to 321 tested yesterday at 3:00 pm after my weekend infusions. This morning after 14 hours they were down to 270. You all know that I will not react unless I have issues. I still do not have any issues. But my question is, do you all believe this to be normal? The rest of my CBC was perfect. Just trying to learn from the group.

Also, Kate Upton did not show up.... Neither did Gwenneth Paltrow.... Maybe for my birthday! :)

So good to see you Jeffrey & know all is well - very happy your surgery was successful in spite of the surgeon being a Steelers fan.

Behave yourself, if possible ;)

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I unwrapped my leg today. It was amazing! Just a little swelling and a few stitches from the work! The doc did good! It is going to kill me to admit this to a Steelers fan (Pittsburgite). I must have done a good job coaching him! I notice that with him being from Pittsburg if I drew pictures he did better! LOL (that was for you Sandi!)

All kidding aside, it was very very good work. I am off the crutches and walking on it now. Not too much, but I am on it and there is only a little pain at the incision sites. I can start rehab on the 10th so I am ready to go! The mobility is very good already! I am so impressed with this guy!

That is about all for now! Have a nice evening!
