Long road and the spleen is now coming out!! was created by amberyard

It has been along road and it is finally coming out on Monday. Got admitted 11/22/13 and most likely will be here until next Friday. They were hoping to get me out before Thanksgiving.....

Diagnosed Jan 10, 2008. Rituxan treatment in May 2009. Treated with Prednisone off and on until 08/23/17 - 12.5mg Promacta as of 10/22/17

I got an Ativan injection last night and was asleep in 45mins. Was woken up about 5 times but was able to go back to bed. I am waiting n nurse to ask what counts were last night. Should be getting pres meds about 9am then IVIG's about 10am. Most definitely will ask for Ativan injection tonight it helped me sleep and de stress. Very overwhelmed!!!!!

I am glad you got a little rest. 'Try to relax and sleep. It will all be good.

We got snow here last night and there were a lot of cars in the ditches and such. Just a normal occurrence until every remembers how to slow down and drive on the slick roads. It was cold too, about 25 for a high here today. I so hate winter..... So today I played like it was summer. Washed and waxed my truck and listened to loud rock and roll all afternoon. Joe the Cat was not much help except with my tuna sandwich I made, but he did keep me company.

Anyway, rest and focus on getting better!

Diagnosed: August 2013, lowest count 2k.
Treatments: IVIG, Prednisone, transfusions.
Current Count: 233k, 12/23/2013.
Currently: Watching/waiting.

Counts before IVIG's 40k haven't got blood work yet tonight and he pushed surgery to 1-2 instead of 2-3... I am a wreak waiting on ativan injection.

Lowest count 1. Highest count 207 (ivig) Indium scan showed predominantly splenic destruction. No meds currently, just seeing how things go.

Well you should be done by now! I hope you are getting good "meds" and that you are resting easy.

Pretty much a ho hum Monday for me, work, but I like work. It is something that I do well. Went to my dance lesson over my extended lunch and it was fun. I am learning ball room. I am enjoying myself with it quite a bit. I am really not very good, at least not yet, but I am determined.

We are all looking forward to hearing about the "experience" when you rejoin us. Take care young lady!

Went in Monday about noon surgeon said it was enlarge. Waiting on numbers to come back and my broth with some jello.

Hope you're feeling ok & are getting lots of pain relief. I was going to ask the same as the last two posters - did you have laparoscopic surgery? And does it mean anything if your spleen was enlarged?

Here's to a fast recovery & getting you home quickly! With good counts thrown in of course! :-)

A little enlargement is okay and may not mean much. If it was very enlarged, it's probably good that it came out but they should have noticed that upon exam. An overly enlarged spleen in someone with ITP can indicate a problem other than ITP.

Yes the surgeon notice it was enlarged during pres surgery exam. 100k today
