I am about to restart taking the BC pill. Six years ago I was on Triphasil. I had nasty side effects (i.e. moodiness, irritability, etc.) that progressively got worse over the two years I was taking Triphasil, and so for my own sanity (and the sake of my marriage;) ) I stopped taking them. Since my ITP has returned I really should be taking something so we don't have a surprise arrival and complication to what it proving to be a volitile situation with my platelets - they just don't want to cooperate!

My doctor has perscribed Marvelon 21. Does anyone have any experience with Marvelon? Were the side effects bad?

I take Marvelon continuously for the express purpose of stopping my periods. There were really heavy when my counts were low or even not so low. I think they would get bad even at quite good counts like 40 or 50. Anyhow, I haven't really noticed any side effects from the Marvelon, although I am usually on some dose of prednisone and I do think it makes the prednisone side effects a little worse.
