I have all the systoms of being prego and I have been extrememly tired, moody, and breasts killing me.I thought that i had a period on October 1st but im not sure because i was bleeding for 2 days of brown blood then spotting for 2 days of brown blood.so im not exactly sure if i am prego or not and if i am could my ITP return because ive been in remission for a year now and i had a splenectomy back in september of 2009. and when I went to brush my teeth today I realized that i had a few dots in my mouth behind my lips. Is my ITP is coming back because i am prego. really need some advice and what I should do bc i am really conserned and afraid. My doctor aptmoint for my OBGYN isn't until nov 12th. thank you.

Danie:

First things first. Can you go to the drug store and get a home pregnancy test? That would answer that question.

Then, call your doctor and ask to get a CBC. Your counts might be just fine but you won't know unless you test.

No need to be scared until you hear bad news. Many people in ITP remission stay in remission throughout their pregnancy.

My ITP returned when i was prego last year. ITP is very common in pregnant women and there are some tx that are safe for baby. I agree with Sandy...First things first, take a home preg. test and go get a blood count if you can.

My baby is completely perfect and 10 months old today. I however still have terrible platelets and am getting treatment. When I look at her it just doesn't matter, she is a complete joy!
