HPV with ITP

HPV with ITP was created by kikid
I was recently diagnosed with HPV. I have had ITP for over a year and a half and am currently on Promacta after courses of IVIG and Prednisone. My question is this. My gynecologist told me that quite a few people will get HPV over their lifetimes but their immune system is strong enough to beat it. Obviously since my immune system is compromised I am wondering if it will ever go away. My pap was normal. She said since my pap was normal not to worry about it till I get my annual pap next year. A small percentage of HPV can develop into ovarian/cervical cancer so I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what was the outcome for them. TY!

I would want a pap before a year is up - I'd want one in at least 6 months or sooner, a year seems to be too long to wait.

I had two kinds of high risk hpv that could've turned into cancer, but my platelets were only slightly below normal and not treated at the time. I went to get a pap every three months for a while until it disappeared long enough, now I go every half year or once a year.
