Dont know what to do.....:( was created by tonya_softball5
I am currently on the depo shot so i never really get my period, but i want to get off of it due to the side affects it can have in the long run. Is this a good idea i am just scared once i get my periods back they will go crazy because of my ITP. Does anyone have any insight on this......

I don't know really for sure, but I'll share what I think makes sense! Then again....nothing at all with ITP makes sense!
Most of us on here who have had problems with our monthly cycle have them for different reasons than ITP. Your period is a different kind of bleeding than say a cut on your finger. It's a "natural" kind of bleeding, if that makes sense. I don't think ITP effects that kind of bleeding.

Question - what are your counts? If counts have been good, there isn't any reason you'd have to stay on Provera. I was only on it for a short time when my counts were below 10, then I stopped taking it. When my counts dropped again, I chose not to take it, although I could have. You can do the same...start taking it again if counts go down. It works pretty fast.

my gyn gave me the Provera for fibroids, before I was diagnosed with ITP. In fact he was the doctor that found it!
