Should I be worried? was created by tlmons
Hi!
I have had low platelets since christmas. I had a CBC done today and am at 19,000. My period is due soon. My platelet count hasn't been this low with my period before. Should I be worried? I am not so worried now about heavy flow because of what i have been reading here, but am worried about my platelet count going too low. I don't have another appt. with my hematologist for 3 more weeks. Should I do something or just chill? Thanks!

For now, chill. Nothing happened yet. If your flow is too heavy, you might have to deal with it (call the doctor, ask for Provera or something). If you think your counts have dropped, you can always ask for a CBC.
