Not sure if I'm posting in the right area, but just correct me and I'll repost to the appropriate place.

I'm asking about any supplements that might aid in reducing the side effects of high sugar levels while on prednisone. I was doing well with reducing my carbs (excluding simple carbs, limiting complex carbs) but I'm still having some higher level sugar numbers. I was researching a bit on Dr. Mercola's site and found some interesting supplements.

I'm hesitant to do anything regarding supplements because it actually could react by reducing my platelet count, right?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Cathy

Unfortunately, the ones that would be good for blood sugar are very contraindicated for ITP. Cinnamon and ginger are both good for blood sugar. But both are hot spices so not good for bleeding. Maybe a good fiber supplement?
