since i wrote my story i have had a few more hospitalazions and a couple of new rounds of IVIg. My hemo put me on Cytoxan and N-Plate on September 10th. Since then my counts have gone up frome 3,000 to 477,000. I havent ever had this high of a count.:woohoo: my highest ever was 226,000 and it only lasted for a little over a week. both me and my hemo are guardily optomistic that we have found the combonation that works for me. Today i felt like my old self and i have had more energy than i have had in months. I know it could still stop working at any moment but it is good to have the old me back. just wanted you all to know how i was doing. i will keep you updated. Kay

That's great, Kay. Just curious - have you tried N-Plate alone?

yes Sandi i have. that is how i got the count of 226,000. but the following week it was down and with in a week and a half i was hospitalized with a count of 1,000. was given IVIg to bring my platlets up to a safe level and then had my spleen removed. the spleenectomy did not work for me. with in a week of surgery i was once again in the hospital with a count of 3,000. my hemo tried retuxin but had little effect. has another round of the IVIg and then was put on the cytoxan(25mg) and the N-plate. my immune system was so reved up from all the IVIg treatments it basicaly was attacking everything. the Cytoxan is being used to slow my immune system down and by doing so hopefully give the N-plate a better chance to work. so far it is working and i am looking forward to not having to take any kind of meds. hopefully if all goes well with in 6months i will be completly off both medications.
