Diagnosis Code for ITP??? was created by DeeDee Marie
Hello Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone has every had to cancel a vacation due to ITP? My husband and I cancelled our vacation while I as in the hospital in July and are suppose to get back some of the money since we had purchased trip insurance. This is such a long process and they really take their time. I have most of the forms filled out and sent to them (here it is already September!). The insurance wants me to fill out the code for ITP. Does anyone know what that code might be? I don't think my doctor knew when he filled out the form. I would apprciate any help with this.

Thank you,
Dee Dee :side:

I'm thinking the only way the doc could know it is because they got it from your health insurance company. I'd try them.

Thanks--but I have Health Net--and they are not great about giving out information. I may just ask my Hemo today; if that doesn't work, I do have a case worker from my medical group who just might help. I found a diagnosis code for ITP off the internet, but I know that is a billing code--not sure if that would work.

Thanks!

The ICD-9 code is 287.3. I used to fill the forms out if they are filled out correctly you should get your money back.

Thank you! I had looked it up on the internet, but wasn't quite sure if it was accurate. My doctor had forgot to fill it out. Now, I can get those insurance faxed in. Really appreciate it!

No Problem DeeDee glad I could help. I used to fill those out along with disability paperwork and also wrote the letters the for patients from the doctors. If you need any more help I will do my best to help.
