note on CBC was created by server
Under my Platelet count on my CBC there is a note that says...."Platelet size variation with large sized platelets noted." Is that a good thing? I'm thinking it is cuz new platelets are the big ones right?

LOL Michelle....that's too funny.
I have another question though. I know....I'm obsessing but I just don't get it. If I have these new big platelets, how come my count went from 64 to 33 in 2 weeks? ugh./

Large platelets are young platelets, and with ITP our platelets are targeted and killed off before they get a chance to decrease in size, which is why when our counts are lower, it is often noted that large platelets are present on a CBC/FBC. :)
