Imuran Dose.

Ive been tapering off the pred. Started at 80 in 8/09 and this past weekend I got the ok to drop down to 4mg from 5mg. My liver enzymes are evelated--but they always have been evelated. Nothing high but a little out of wack. They have been like that since I started seeing my hema 4 yrs go(sheesh its been that long already) Hes not worried about it but my rhema is. They are both impressed with how im responding to the Imuran. For the past 8 weeks my counts were 40 and this past week they dropped to 30. As long as they are above 20 its fine with all of us. Ive had ultrasounds and all they show is an elarged spleen, Ive had CT scans and they show inflamation in my colon, and a fatty liver. They want to up my Imuran dose to 150 to get me past this taper in the hopes of keeping my counts up and they eventually drop my dose back down to 100mg. Im not sure if I should. What do you think? All my labs have come back good, well except for a few things like my liver enzymes, and my white count is still a little high.

Hi Jeniffer, Glad your doing well on the Imuran. You could try the 150mg dose then put it down after your off the pred like they say, if your responding to it it will put your count up more. It looks like its put me into remission.

My wife too is on Imuran for 7 weeks and started tapering off pred but plt fell to 7k. How long it took for Imuran to start helping you?
