ITP and Vitamin D deficiency was created by GrouchoMarx
Interesting enough to mention that the 2 times I started to take multivitamins I got a rebound in my platelets count. When I stopped it went down.
Last time 29000 a month ago to 50000 today. On January from 39000 to 73000. I stopped and immediately started to go down.

Today I decided to check my vitamin D levels. Even after one month taking vitamins and exposing my self to the sun, my level of vitamin D are well insufficient.

Could it be the reason of my ITP or just that It helps my bones to produce more platelets?

mmm...

Vit D levels should always be checked, especially when one has an autoimmune condition. I don't know how much it helps with platelet production, but I assume it varies because I can have adequate vit D levels and 0 platelets. Still, it's something your doctor should monitor. Glad you had yours checked and hopefully increasing your levels will help with your ITP.

b2h is right - your doctor should monitor your D & if you are low he/she should get you on the right path. Mine was low, after high doses I'm not in the normal range so just taking OTC D3 now. Can't say my platelet count went up when the D did - but boy did it go up thanks to an antibiotic I had to take for an infection!

I was told not to take a multi-vitamin because of the E in it.
