My son is now 19 and away at college. Diagnosed with ITP since 2011. His tx has run the course of IVIG, Rituxin, Steroids, currently on Promacta.. He has aged out of Pediatric Hematologist in NYC and I am now looking for a new MD closer to home and college for him. Any recommendations for a new ITP specialist in the northern NJ area (Bergen County ) would be appreciated.

Looks like no one knows of a doctor in the area you want. What about asking his pediatric hematologist? Is there a big university near you with a medical school, if so you could ask there. Good luck to your son.

Hi John, I know it's not North Bergen, but I would look into Robert Wood Medical in New Jersey. Also, are there any ITP support groups in Bergen? If so, have you asked the group leader(s)? All the best ~
