Hello. I'm a newbie here. I'm looking for anyone who can probably sponsor ivig or rituximab treatments in the philippines? I was diagnosed with itp in 1999. Sometimes I get to experience prolonged and very heavy bleeding which results to decreasing my hemoglobin and giving me transfusions. Most recent was last month. Also had platelets concentrate transfusions bit it only increased up to 6k and then went back to 4k after a couple of days. Currently I'm taking Revolade Eltrombopag and Azathioprine. My doc already tapered my Prednisone. A friend also suggested to take Usana as my multi vitamins. But my doc is suggesting the treatment that i mentioned above. It's too expensive. I can't afford it.

I'm really sorry to hear this. We don't personally sponsor any treatments; we're all patients too. Maybe you could contact the drug company? They will sometimes sponsor patients who cannot afford drugs.

Hi Sandi. Do you think I should try this kind of treatment too? I'm currently taking Eltrombopag. And I was thinking it could take a little while to take effect.

I don't know, Candice. Eltrombopag usually has a higher success rate than Rituxan does. IVIG is almost always temporary, like a few days or weeks. You're not having any response to Eltrombopag at all?
