Dropping Platelets and Fatigue

Dropping Platelets and Fatigue was created by Sandy Too
I am now on 10 mg of pred, and have been for about a month or so. I had had tow low counts in eight months even with high dose pred.
But the 10mg isn't enough to stop the drop I don't think. I went from 280 on 50mg to last week 80.
I have noticed even though my hemo told me there are no symptoms to ITP, some repetitive symptoms now that it's happened three times.
First I got headaches in the night. Then nosebleeds. Then painful little bumps on my skin here and there. perhaps worst of all is the dog tired fatigue. I just don't want to do anything. I mean I do want to do everything, but just can't because of the horrible fatigue. All I do want to do is sleep or just be still. Am I nuts? Or is the hemo? thanks, Sandy Too

  • ITP since 2014. Retired nurse. My belief is empower patients to be involved as much as possible in their care. Read, read, read & ALWAYS question medics about the evidence base they use.

Section on fatigue in here

I believe you, it's awful in the early days but as time goes by it becomes less debilitating but still sometimes takes me by surprise.
