My daughter responded really well to Promacta. Her platelets started to rise as her dose was being decreasesd so at this point she is drug free with normal platelets.

Her ITP course ran a little over 3 years that we were aware of - I suspect it went longer than that before we picked up on it. The first year her counts were in the 40's so it wasn't that big a deal. The next year when her counts tanked was a little rough but after that with Promacta she did well. I am considering her very lucky that even when her counts were very low her bleeding symptoms were not that bad and that she responded so well to therapy. I guess the autoimmune issue will worry me "a little" but she is well now so no point in looking for trouble.

Woohoo! That is some excellent news Terri! I'm so glad that she's doing so well and will hopefully be treatment free from this point forward. You are yet another data point giving me hope for this Promacta treatment :)

Congrats!
