Blood Blister was created by Barb111
I was diagnosed a few months ago and my counts have gone from 100 to 74 to 52 to 34, started Prednisone 2 weeks ago and went up to 51, but last week dropped to 34 again. I have no bruising or symptoms. I did notice a tiny blood blister in my mouth this morning. I could have bit my cheek, don't know. When do you call the doctor? Is this a bad sign? My counts are taken every Monday.
Thanks.

I guess when I would call the doctor would be because of an unexpected change - like an unexpected reaction to the Prednisone. As you have realized, the blood blister could be unrelated.

Good luck on Monday !

Thanks for the reply! I worry that my counts drops by 20 or so in a week. So, I didn't know if this blister may mean I am at a dangerous level, like 10...If nothing new tomorrow, I will just have the numbers run on Monday.

I think if you do some online research you'll find that some can have a count much higher than 10 and still get mouth blisters and even nose bleeds. That is, symptoms vary quite a bit from person to person.

Thank you for the reassurance. This is all so new. Since the Prednisone does not seem to be working, I will have to see what's next. They have started to taper me off. I have to bring my counts up since I have a history of melanoma and need a small procedure done. It's been put off now for a month and I can't wait much longer.
