Medicare and Medicare. Supplements

I was diagnosed with ITP this last May. This coming March I will be 65 and on Medicare. Does anyone know if Medicare covers ITP treatments? Is the a Medicare supplement that I should get? Currently I am in
Remission( my doctor hates that term and says it should only be reserved for cancers)
Any advice would be appreciated.

Medicare covers ITP treatment of course, but ITP can be an extremely expensive disease to treat. So it's the portion of the cost (20%, I think) Medicare doesn't pay that matters to most people.

My advice is to buy the very best supplemental insurance you can afford. Investigate whether you're better off with a separate supplemental plan or an all-in-one Medicare "advantage" ("Part C") plan.
I'm fortunate to have an 'advantage' plan that pays everything except the yearly $147 deductible that Medicare requires. I'm able to get NPlate treatment for zero out-of-pocket cost. This year to date, the plan has paid more than $122K for my ITP treatment.
