Do you remember the company that was going to make testing platelets easy, only using a few drops of blood and without a Dr.'s appointment? The company has run into problems:

"Last week, Theranos said that it had issued corrections for thousands of its blood tests. It also said it voided two years' worth of results from its "Edison" device. At that time, the company said that no patients suffered harm due to inaccurate results."

Theranos is the name of the firm, and problems are mounting. I was hoping the tests Theranos was attempting to develop would prove useful. But the news isn't far from promising at this point.

No final determination from the CMS or FDA about Theranos and its technology yet, afaik.

Eh, we don't need it! Most can get a CBC without a doctor appointment and if you can't, talk to your doctor about it. As for a few drops of blood, is that a finger prick? I think those hurt more and were never all that accurate.
