Petechiae back after eight years

Hi,
It is a long time since I last posted. My daughter had ITP when she was 1 1/2 and by the age of 3 her counts were back to normal and she seemed to go into remission. She is now 11, nearly 12 and I have started to notice the spots on her ankles. Not loads but enough to worry me. She also keeps getting them on her torso especially if she has had a hot water bottle. She does not have loads of bruises so I am not panicking just yet but this has made me think - could it be coming back? Does anyone have any experience of this? Should I get her checked - at the mention she became very distressed as she can remember when she was little.
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi FiJa,

I had ITP as an adult so it isn't the same but I had a remission of just short of ten years.

Getting checked doesn't mean having treatments. It is good to know her number if she is showing symptoms.

ITP can come back at any time. The only way to know is to get a CBC. Please let us know.
