Anyone worried?

Anyone worried in the US about the Supreme Court possibly ruling against subsidies for health insurance?

I am! I live in the (not so) great state of Florida. So if the Supreme Court rules against subsidies for states that did not set up their own insurance exchange, Florida will do nothing for its people. And my premiums will go up 1000%. I think I did the math right. Now my husband and I are paying around $200/month. It will be $2,000/month without the subsidy.

Oh well, good bye health insurance. I have a scheduled appointment in July. Guess I will cancel it if that happens.

I'm worried about the entire health care industry for the whole country. Things are bad and they are only going to get worse. What a mess.

I'm very concerned about this. It's the only news related to politics I follow. I'm more concerned about the fate of the ACA in the wake of next year's presidential election. I don't like the idea of having to get insurance through a state-run high-risk insurance pool in my state, which does have an exchange. I narrowly avoided that pool a few years back but would be in it now, at least under a system such as we had before the ACA.

Supreme Court rules 6-3 to save Obamacare subsidies

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Thursday to save subsidies for as many as 8 million people under the Affordable Care Act. In the case of King v. Burwell, justices determined that the subsidies should be available in states that don’t have their own exchanges. The court determined that the broader context of the ACA allows subsidies to all those under the Obamacare program. Justices voted 6-3 in favor of upholding the subsidies with Chief Justice John Roberts and swing vote Justice Anthony Kennedy joining the majority.
