Herbal Antibiotics was created by renee106
I know I saw a list that included herbs that cause our platelets to go lower but I can't find it so thought I would ask my question here. I have been treating with Chinese treatments for many years. When first diagnosed with ITP I tried that route but my platelets got so low I gave in and began conventional medical treatments. My numbers are up and down and I am currently on nPlate with a count around 80. I have a bad case of the flu and feel like I'm beginning to get a sinus infection so wanted to go on my normal antibiotics but am unsure if it is safe. For years I have taken Herbal ABX whenever I get sick and they work like a charm. My hemo is not familiar with any herbal remedies and doesn't even want to comment on this. So . . . does anyone know where I can find the list? Has anyone had experience with taking Chinese antibiotics while in treatment?

Thanks for any information you can give me.

Renee:

Here is a list published by the PDSA. My thought is that anything we ingest has the potential to cause a problem with platelets, whether it be traditional or herbal. There are constantly warnings about herbal supplements and what could be in them (just saw one today on the news). All you can do is take them and see what happens. Everyone can react differently so what works out for one person may not work out for you and vice versa.
