Finally found the results of the bone marrow biopsy done many years ago when put in the hospital with 12k & looking like I was beaten up in a back alley with a 2x4.

The bone marrow results were fine & diagnosis "Thrombocytopenia with adequate marrow megakaryocytes, consistent with ITP. Normocellular bone marrow.

Seeing the new hematologist tomorrow so was hunting down records since the HMO doesn't have them anymore.

I'm happy you found it (didn't know you were looking though)! When was that done?

I wasn't really looking for it - just looking for some info to give new hematologist tomorrow since the dear HMO no longer has the records I brought with me. Sandi that was done in another century when I was diagnosed.

My PCPs office just called and due to breaking my foot in October he wants a bone density test & a vitamin D test. I'm happy to get them even though the orthopedist said wasn't my age that caused the break but the way my foot twisted.

PS - got blood work done due to appt tomorrow - my platelets came back at 137k which floored me. I was on antibiotic and finished that up about a week and a half before the test so maybe that count is due to the med or the sinus infection. Hmmmmmm.

Good idea to have the tests. I get the bone density every year and Vitamin D checked a few times a year. That level still drops in between tests unless I'm on the script. Can't be too careful!

Good news on the counts! Sometimes antibiotics can bump them up...ya never know!

Waiting on the blood work. Bone density test is Monday. Looking forward to the bone density results - last came back as osteopenia. If it isn't one thing it's another with something else thrown in just to keep one on their toes. If I didn't have a policy of "never take a wait & see attitude" I'd never go to a doctor - they always seem to have something bad to add to the list ;)

I agree with you there! I'm behind on so many appointments right now, but the darn deductible started over!
