A bloody nose can be caused by low platelets, but there are other causes too. Sometimes when the weather is dry or a person is stuffed up, they can have a nose bleed. If it's just a little bit, I wouldn't worry about it.

I started noticing the same thing with my nose and quickly made the connection with dry air, etc. I figure as long it's not pouring out of me or can't be stopped, it's a minor symptom that I don't worry about.

I see that during the hot and dry days in summer, and during the cold days in winter when I run my electric heat. I've never thought of it as a part of ITP since it happens to so many people I know.

After a couple of nosebleeds the ENT specialist recommended using sesame oil nose spray. I find it really good in dry situations like planes, air conditioning in winter or in very hot dry weather.
Tomorrow is going to be a stinker so I am using it as well as moisturizing all over & having bowls of water through the house.

Nose gels and nose spray with gel are also helpful to keep the nostrils soft and moist.
