New Doctor Too Good To Be True?? Long sorry

Appointment with the new doctor today got my list of questions ready. Most were answer just in conversation meaning I did not have to ask!

1. Does she treat numbers or symptoms?
1. Suggested that we should face that issue if and when it comes up. (She hopes I get another remission from Rituxan and said some studies show Rituxan response the second time around isn't as long as the first) Than said if blood work shows a drop and or I start to show symptoms than we would discuss what to do next.

2. Hematologist or Oncologist?
2. Pharmacist informed me she is both hematology and oncology; but that her "interest" is blood disorders.
***** She said I have ITP but has never required treatment.*****

3. PRN blood work frequency?
3. As for frequency every 3 months unless I have symptoms or if I am planning on doing something. To be pro-active that way a treatment could be set up before my plans. (Which is how I want it). Left today with a PRN lab request.

4. How many patients ITP?
4. While talking about my reactions to the different medications I have had. She referred 2 patients having the aseptic meningitis from IVIG and that she had not see it before them. She also was wondering if it was because they had brought out a new brand.

5. Why I have go to Cancer clinic?
5. She only ever worked out of hospitals so yes I have to go there.

6. Wanted a copy of old blood work? (or at least know some of the test results).
6. Gave me a copy of my old blood work.

7. Parathesia.
7. Basically just agreed that parathesia was probably caused by Rituxan.

8. Immunizations triggering the immune system?
8. Her response was do you want my professional opinion or my personal opinion! Of course I said both. Professional says if your immunocompromised than they probably won't work. Each patient would be different based on them. Personally she is against them. So I asked about getting a note to not have to get the flu shot if my job was insisting. Explained what happened last year the trouble swallowing and platelet drop. She said she would write me a note saying I had a bad reaction and can not get one.

PS: She asked about my tooth I said it was going to rot in my mouth. She insisted I could not do that and stated she would write me a letter saying I could have dental work. Wants me to get it done while my counts are still up and she left the room came back and a few minutes later followed by a girl with a typed letter saying just that. Than informed me if it took too long to get the appointment she would hand me another letter next visit if needed.

PSS: Next appointment in 2 months so that way we avoid December and the holidays.
