My third time with IPT was created by jd90958
Four weeks ago I was hospitalized with my 3rd "round" of ITP. The first was 37 years ago when I was a teen ager and then again 10 yrs ago. This time my count was less than 1,000. Never had it been that low. I spent 10 days in the hospital, had 5 IVIG treatments, steroids, and just had my 4th and hopefully last Rituxin treatment on Thurs. The specialist, 3 of them, feel I will have continued problems with this. I am curious if anyone else has had issues like this and over so many years. Thanks

Remissions come and go, so it's not unusual to relapse at times. There is no reason to think that you won't have another remission since Rituxan can cause that to happen. :)

  • Diagnosed in 2000, at 59, after being on moderately high doses of NSAIDs for arthritis. Splenectomy and rituxan both failed (2004). Did well on prednisone till summer 2018--then terrible reactions. Promacta since 11-19.

JD, I'm curious about your being in the hospital--most of us aren't hospitalized, even with low, low counts. What were your symptoms that caused the hospitalization?
