This is all new to me and not sure if there is a connection. Every time I go in the sun my skin hurts and feels like it's burning, not a sun burn and real burn. Then I get wiped out and have chills. It's 80 out and I have on sweats and a hoodie. Is this normal? I also have secondary polycythemia. Thank you!!

Just watch and wait for the ITP and phlebotomies if needed for the polycythemia

Sounds like possible parensthesia. There can be a few causes for that. I have it due to nerve inflammation from Lupus.

Thank you Sandy! Going to check that link out. I have fibromyalgia, I couldn't imagine Lupus. That's alone is a full time medical issue

My skin always burns when I'm in the sun or when I am in the cold. Sometimes I also get pins and needles that lasts days or weeks.

Sounds like you might be developing a sun sensitivity. Do you see a Rheumatologist?

Honestly I did have a rhumatolgist for my fibro, told him years ago I used marajuana for pain. Then he tested me, negative for narcotics but THC positive. I was tired of the poisons he gave me that didn't help much and effected my liver. So he dropped me as a patient. So much for being honest with certain doctors. My oncologist was applaud that he would do that after 14 years of treating me. I honestly feel crushed, I sent family to this man, was honest and he didn't have an issue and never said not to use it. So going to be looking for another one...

I agree that medications don't help much and if they do, the side effects are too nasty. Good luck with your search.
