Nplate traveling to London was created by ccurley
Hello I am traveling to London and will need one shot for the week of July 24th. I can work the other 2 weeks out before I leave and after I return. A friend is a Practice Manager in Newcastle for a Doctors Practice and is looking into this for me to see what she may be able to find out. Looks like I will have to pay for the treatment then be reimbursed per my US Health Insurance. Which is fine but don't you all administer the shots yourselves?

Anyone in London and have a Doctor they could recommend my friend or I contact?

Thanks for any and all help!

I'm answering this presuming you mean the London in the UK and not in Canada. If the latter just ignore me.

In the UK you won't be able to get Nplate from a doctor's practice. It's only available from a haematologist. I suggest you contact Dr Drew Provan at the Royal London Hospital and ask his advice. He does answer emails from patients. His email address is a.b.provan@qmul.ac.uk .

We do self inject but only when we're stable and even then it's not obligatory. At the Royal London they do Nplate injections in the Haematology Day Unit.

Agree with ann. Have seen dr drew provan in royal London hospital. It's a nice place and suite where you can get treatment.

I emailed and received a prompt email reply. Looks like I can take my own over and if need be they will administer the shot at their office. Waiting on our insurance at the moment to see if getting it sent directly to us is covered. I am certainly covered at the Hematologist's office but they are working on it.
