Kind of embarassing but id rather share it with the message board. I'm an extremely hairy man and I've considered waxing many times but now with ITP I'm afraid id be more susceptible to bleeding. Anyone know if this is safe? Thanks

I have wanted to know the same thing since doctors told me to use only electric only. Waxing would be so much easier.

My 15y/o daughter shaves and waxes with platelets less than 10k. If she nicks herself she bleeds / oozes for couple days. Waxing causes petechia... Not so attractive around the eyebrows. :). She does her thing. I don't think she has regally hurt herself.

Threading - much cheaper and much easier than waxing - call or go to your local nail salon or spa and ask if they do threading. I just found a nail salon close to me that does threading on brows & face - not sure about rest of the body though, that's why I said check with a spa.

[Even when I was under 11k I was never told not to shave so I did and never thought about it.]

You aren't going to bleed out from a waxing wound or even a shaving nick are you? You know there is a risk of visible bruising so that's the decision.

I agree. Worst case scenario you'll end up with some ugly petechiae or bruising from waxing.
