Promacta - Platelet bonanza

Promacta - Platelet bonanza was created by vega
Not a good kind of bonanza. I've been on Promacta for about a year now going from 25-75mg. My platelet count averages 45-60.
In March I was unable to get ahold of Promacta on time. I went several days without it. My count dropped to 17. I started the Promacta again. The next count was 60, then 103. Frankly I was shocked to have 103.
Today, a week later - I went into total shock. My platelet count was 219!!!! I have never ever had a count that hight or have a big jump like that.
Normally I would say all these platelets are a good thing. However, I am a candidate for oral surgery and want to have relatively stable numbers. The oral surgeon does not really want to do surgery with a count below 50. He's afraid I might need a blood transfusion. I am metting him shortly to discuss what my options are.
Right now I can't trust any of these numbers. Anyone else have faced outrageous platelet increases?
Thanks, Vega
