PCP has come a long way was created by tamar
It must've been about 3-4 years ago when I decided it was easier to get my CBCs through my PCP, even though I'd have to wait several hours and maybe even overnight for results. The past few years it's also been a heck of a lot cheaper getting them at a clinic that is NOT classified as a "hospital outpatient" location.

Anyway, my PCP used to get quite nervous when my platelets dropped at all, even if it was from 120K to 90K (oh, the days when I used to be up there....). I think, however, that he's finally gotten used to the idea of a low but safe platelet count. In the past year, my platelets have swung from a low of 39 to a high of 59. The email message that I got from him today along with my count of 46K was "platelets are annoyingly stable." Made me giggle.
