Hello again was created by RHofm50129
Back from the Christmas markets of Europe, Christmas over. I thought I would say hello. Although I took rescue predisone and my doctor's email and trip insurance with no pre-existing clause and the addresses of hematologists in every city we went to... :) I did not have any ITP episodes, thank goodness. The downside is that I have never been able to get rid of the problem with my heel that I got two days after I finished the steroid taper. I woke up with "shortened Achilles heel tendons." That's what it felt like. The right foot was better within a week, but the left foot went on to cause me pain in the ankle and heel and on both sides of the hell. The doctor says it is likely fascitis. I made it throughout the 3 week trip with my cane and hydrocodone. Bless both. I am pretty sick of this heel thing. Have had it since August now. I don't have to go back to my hematologist til June, which is great. I hope nothing happens to make me go earlier.
So I wish you all happy and healthy New Year's. Roberta

I've always had achilles problems and physio exercises have helped recently. It still hasn't gone but I think it's getting better slowly. Have you been doing the various exercises for fasciitis which are pretty similar to the ones for achilles?

No, I've been walking 5-6 hours a day while I was in Europe which I am sure did not help. Now I am on my feet all day taking down Christmas decorations. We have 12 Christmas trees and miscellaneous other stuff. :) Maybe after we get all that put away.

Hey Roberta - glad you made the trip and all went well!

I have plantars fasciitis also. I bought some shoe inserts that are designed for fasciitis and they worked great. My husband also had it and the inserts helped him.

Didn't you end up with Achilles Tendonitis from an antibiotic? I have that too and haven't found anything to help that. I did have it in both heels but luckily one of them has healed.

I ended up with it from the steroids. I never took an antibiotic. I had a number of muscle problems on steroids. My doctor gave me the heel inserts, but all they did was give me fascitis in the middle of my foot as well.
