Stomach pain was created by kdang
Hi all,

I experience stomach pains that feel a little bit like cramps, the source of the pain originates from deep within the belly area and the cramps make me want to double over....

I would like to find out the following:
. do men feel stomach pains associated with ITP as well, or is it just women?
. besides prescribed medication like Nplate (my doctor did not prescribe it, but I see it mentioned on this forum), what do you do to alleviate these pains?
. I have used a heating pad, eaten crystallized or raw ginger, and when desperate, I have taken a Tylenol. Those measures have helped mildly

(I am a 57 year-old female, diagnosed with ITP 3 years ago, platelet count stable around 100)

Thanks,
Kathy

Your pain is not typical of ITP and should be investigated as something separate.

A count of 100 is considered a normal count where ITP is concerned so you should not be having any bleeding problems and as I say, pain is not associated with ITP.

Kathy:

I agree with Ann. Pain is not associated with ITP. Treatment would not be prescribed with counts of 100k, especially N-Plate. You need to discuss this with your GP.
