Lab tests from storefront places

I finally looked up the local lab test place, it's called Any Lab Test Now. The cost for a CBC is $49 and they don't have a stand alone platelet count available. So while it would save the hassle of a doctor appointment, the cost is a lot more than I would pay after insurance if I went to the doctor. It did not say how long results would take.

If the price was in the 20s I would for sure do this now and then. At $49 I'm not sure. For example I just got a flu shot yesterday and I'm feeling the usual slightly crappy for a couple of days after. I was wondering if my platelets dip after the flu shot and I'd spend $20 to find out but no, not 49.

I would say $49 is too much to pay for a CBC. I'm uninsured, and the place I go to get CBCs only costs me $20, and they fax my results to my hematologist. I would keep looking/calling around other places. Personally, I wouldn't pay that much.
