Pick Me Up Quotes--Getting over the Paranoia!

Hey guys!
I came across this quote today and I thought it summed us all up too perfectly not to share. As many of you know I am constantly paranoid (as I'm pretty sure 99% of us are) and I am constantly letting ITP rule my life. Which pretty much defeats the purpose of living, don't you think? So, I came across this quote and had to share it!

"In life, be a warrior. Not a worrier!" -Imad Enzo Ouicha

I think this is my new motto! It sure fits my situation well! Do you guys have any great quotes or words of wisdom?

~Natalie

I'm constantly paranoid as well. The past 7 months have been very challenging which have brought on my depression and anxiety. Luckily my parents try to keep pushing me forward and trying to get me back in school to get my bcba( board certified behavior analysis) licensure and move forward. They say "keep calm and carry on." Easier said than done but working on making it my mantra.

Well, what do you know! I just happen to have a dog hair covered pillow that has your mantra on it!

And look at my fat Prednisone face. It's been that way for two years and since I may never get off of Prednisone, it might be with me forever. I don't like it, but 'it is what it is'. That's my mantra.

PS. This pillow is from my son's room. I don't have dog hair pillows in the rooms I'm in charge of.

Natalie - good find and good way to look at it! You are absolutely right. Time is short and you don't want to waste it worrying. Life has many challenges along the way and this is only one of them.

Sandi,

The dog hair makes it even better! Oh the joys of prednisone. One of my former coworkers was just diagnosed with lupus( could not figure out what was wrong for years). She basically has been in bed for a year. They gave her prednisone last week and she was feeling good enough to go out by the weekend, so she was thrilled. Prednisone def has its pros and cons. I def miss having the inspiration to clean and organize my entire house.

Here is another famous quote "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade"

Normally, I am too much of a perfectionist to take and display a public picture with dog hair showing, but it's been a bad week. I lowered my standards today. I'm not on a high enough dose to have cleaning frenzies. It's just enough to allow me to get through a day. I hope your friend gets the right treatments and does well. It's a shame that she had to go so long undiagnosed, but that happens a lot with Lupus.

That is a great mantra to follow! You will be ok! I have lots of respect for what you are doing. Think of all the children you will help if you follow through with what you started. As a kindergarten teacher, we have utmost respect for people who help our children. We need you! You can do it!

I thought that was from 'Commander Peter Quincy Taggart' ........ ("Never give up, never surrender").

Might have been, but I got it from the Churchill speech.

How you doing Jack? Been wondering how you are doing.

Oh my.....am I the only 'Galaxy Quest' fan here?
The 1999 spoof of Star Trek type TV shows. It starred Tim Allen in the dual role of the has-been actor named Jason Nesmith and his TV character 'Cmdr. Peter Quincy Taggart'. Taggart being the TV captain of the star ship 'NSEA Protector'. Basically a parody of Shatner/Kirk and the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701).
Taggart's signature line was, "Never give up, never surrender". Most likely taken from the Churchill quote.

Note: One of my favorite Churchill quotes is; “If you are going through hell, keep going.
.

I forgot to mention one of my all-time favorite quotes....actually a 'mindset' which pops up throughout a book series. I'm a freak for Edger Rice Burroughs books and stories. My favorite being the Barsoom series with John Carter.
Throughout the entire series, the philosophy of John Carter is summed up by his constant statement; "I still live!".

I'm going to ruin the depth that some of these quotes have brought to the thread.....

"Just keep swimming..."

And then I think of dory, smile & move on!

Lowest count 1. Highest count 207 (ivig) Indium scan showed predominantly splenic destruction. No meds currently, just seeing how things go.

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass - it's about learning to dance in the rain".
