Ok, I have had itp three times. I want to know what other type of auto immune diseases are related to itp. Only because it all started last year, I became tired after a flu, my platelets shot down but eventually came up but I was left with off balnce dizziness, pressure in my head and eyes and tiredness. I also feel like a sense of derealization though to a lesser extent. This gives me anxiety though I try to suppress it. I have felt light headed at times and doctors at first thought anxiety, I was annoyed as I told them that I had dealt with itp perfectly fine cos I FELT well even at very low platelets. It never caused me anxiety cos i had great doctors and they were cautious with me. Only when I i tapered off prednisone did I get down but other then that all I wanna do is work and do things but my body is acting strange. Like I sometimes feel like I have nervousness running through me then I get tired and I feel like I'm not sure what is happening. I have thought it was a thyroid problem cos my tsh went funny but then back to normal a week later. They now think I have labrynthitis but I'm not convinced as yet.

I want to know what sort of other immune problems are tied to itp? I need to find out what is wrong. It's SO frustrating. They have also said possibly cfs, I don't know I'm at a loss. I thought a problem with blood pressure cos my blood pressure seems to always be mostly low when I get it checked. Not too low though. Anyway I know it's not totally about itp) but any advice is appreciated.:)

I have Graves' disease. Many of the symptoms you describe like the nervousness and anxiety I had. I had to have several thyroid checks done to figure it out. Even though I have it, my thyroid counts were never off the charts high, only slightly and once came back normal, so don't rule it out yet. My blood pressure was always normal, but my pulse was high. Is yours high. Have you lost weight? Do your hands feel shaky?

My doctor says its not related to itp, but people with autoimmune disorders tend to have more than 1.

Hey thanks for replying. Well, when they checked my thyroid I was slightly undereactive but it went back up to normal. At first I was tired now I feel like I'm nervous or something. My aunt who had Graves' disease said to me that my eyes look a bit funny one day cos I said I was feeling a pressure there. Yes, my pulse is high at times like walking it seems a bit overly rapid. It's funny you mention that as we were twlking about it last week. My aunt also before I got itp noticed I had a massive black bruise on my leg and told me to get it checked out so she has a knack for spotting things. Thanks for bringing it back to my attention, V.I might get my thyroid checked again. You would not believe it but all the women on my mothers side and my sister have a thyroid issue. I'm the only one without one. Two of my aunts were overactive, two undereactive and my sister undereactive. Bar one female didnt have and me. :S

It's def worth getting checked out at least one more time! I have grave's disease, my sister had thyroid cancer and my mom has some weird thing where her thyroid has similar features to someone with grave's, but no symptoms. Since thyroid issues are the most common disorder and they run in your family worth checking again!
