My 52 year old son is in the hospital now and the hematologist is trying to stabilize his anemia and itp. He has had 2 bone marrow tests and a spinal fluid test and all have been normal, however his body does not seem to be producing platelets. Yesterday he was started on a high does(1oo) of prednisone and Procrit. Wondered if anyone has had experience with the same situation.

Jajan,

I am so sorry for you and your son. I do not have any experience with what you are dealing with, but I sure that someone will read your post that may be able to assist you. Keep up updated!

Praying they can stablize him quickly.

I've used procrit at work many times it should start fixing the anemia after a few doses.

Keep us posted

Jajan,

So sorry to hear about your son having a stroke and being diagnosed with ITP. There have been quite a few others that were on this board who have had a stroke from ITP. Hopefully, they will see your posting and tell you a little bit about their story with ITP. I personally haven't had that problem so far.

I pray that he will stabilize and get better soon. My prayers go out to your son and family.

Dee Dee
