I have noticed some people have itp and lupus does anyone know the connection? Does lupus cause itp or does itp cause lupus? Just wondered if anyone could explain it to me I'm very interested

ITP can be a symptom of Lupus and is one of the criteria for a Lupus diagnosis (along with many other things). Neither 'causes' the other, but some people with ITP do eventually go on to a Lupus diagnosis. Thankfully, that is rare.

Well, one good thing is that ITP went into remission right before I was diagnosed with Lupus, so ITP hasn't been a problem. Lupus sure has been though!

I'm sorry you have to deal with both low counts and clotting.

I don't have a clotting problem luckily I have been tested for that it was just that one time where I was given too much nplate Thank goodness
