Anybody know a doctor in Puerto Rico? was created by stacidavis
Hi All,

I will be traveling to Puerto Rico (Isle Verde area) and I always like to be prepared just in case. Does anybody know of a good hospital in the Puerto Rico area or a good ITP doctor?

Thanks in advance,
Staci

  • Diagnosed on May 2012, and on remission since October 2014. I was very confused when my physician and hematologist spoke to me about ITP for the first time. I am very thankful for this site.

Staci, when I was traveling a lot and didn't have a good handle on my platelets, I carried a letter from my doctor that stated what he would want to happen if my platelets dropped below 15K (which at that time was a specific dose of WinRho). It had his contact information included.

I never needed that letter, but I am glad I had it so that I didn't have to worry about being refused a treatment that I knew had a history of working.
