Safe Fever Reducer? was created by hazelbaker
Does a safe fever reducer exist for adults with ITP? Are there some choices that are safer that others?

  • Diagnosed in 2000, at 59, after being on moderately high doses of NSAIDs for arthritis. Splenectomy and rituxan both failed (2004). Did well on prednisone till summer 2018--then terrible reactions. Promacta since 11-19.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is generally considered safe if you don't exceed the recommended dosage.

Ice could also probably be used to reduce fever.

My hematologist said Tylenol as well. He said no ibuprofen or aspirin.
