Stable Platelets ? was created by brishti
Hi everyone
Hope everyone is doing great!
I am just wondering about a statement made by my Heama. Let me explain. My platelets are between 60k to 120 k since my baby girl is born( December 2011). I didn't take any medication since then. I was thinking to go for my 2nd baby, The Hema said a big NO. She also said to wait till the plts are stable. I am kind of confuse that what does stable platelets means for a ITP patient?
Thanks for your opinion!

Had ITP since 2003

You seem pretty stable to me. I have no idea what she wants you to wait for. Maybe ask your OB/GYN what she thinks.

Sandi is right - what are stable platelets? There are so many optiions for us to stabilise them today. I had a baby after having my spleen removed (only option in those days) My baby just celebrated his 31st birthday. I said I would have a C section because at least they knew about my platelets but they didn't know about his. Mine seemed to stabilise naturally because of my pregnancy. Sorry about my rant about your Hema but I've had a bad day - not plt wise!!
Take Care, Christine :)
