I'm looking for a good hematologist for my adult son in the New York/New England area or even Pennsylvania. Would really appreciate it if anyone can help me. His current MD is very nice and caring but he admitted he doesn't know how to treat my son who has ITP, AIHA and possibly ALPS. Thank-you Joan

Hello Joan,

My wife has been seeing what we seem to feel is a pretty knowledgeable hematologist that is personable and has experience with ITP in Boston. His name is Dr. Ayad Hamdan he's associated with Harvard Medical School working out of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

There are others that work out of Massachusetts General Hospital too. Good luck and Happy Holidays.

I go to Tufts in Boston. My hematologist is amazing. Dr. Hedy Smith is her name.
