Your bone marrow would most likely come out normal like so many of us. The only thing the bone marrow found on me that I recently had Mono. Your counts aren't that bad, the lowest I've been was 7000. I don't have insurance so in my case the hospital didn't keep me when they should have. The hemo I was seeing did the bone marrow right when he said I needed one because nothing at the point was working, pred highest 32000 and I was on 100mg of it daily. And the hemo was billing me as he went, know that I didn't have insurance.

Mont:

Hello. I have to agree with you and say that the BMB probably isn't necessary. Your counts are quite good and actually, ITP is now classified as counts consistently below 100. I would monitor every few months and maybe also if you get sick for any reason as counts can drop then.

There have been quite a few people over the years who have counts like yours and they do nothing except have a CBC once in a while. Good luck and I hope you never have to treat; that can be difficult, but manageable.

Totally not necessary, I've had ITP for over 10 years. My worst count was zero while pregnant and 2k spring 2011 and i never had any doctor request a bone marrow biopsy. Your counts are great, I would ask your doctor for a vitamin level check, see what he says:)

I agree with all the above. Didn't have bone marrow biopsy until single digits. Anything over 50,000 is totally safe. Just check periodically.

I agree with above. My counts have been 2 multiple times and biopsy has never been brought up. I have had ITP 2 years. The best advice is to find a hemotologist who is knowledgeble of current treatments and who listens to you. Good luck to you!!

Blood counts in an asymptomatic person are simply blood counts. I would not spend a fortune having a complete workup if I were asymtomatic. Of course if I were asymptomatic and below 10K, i would take itmuchmore seriously.
