Platelet count less than 5000 for over 9 weeks

It's been over 9 weeks now and my counts can't get above 5000 after 10 mcg of Nplate (twice), rituxan, ivig, decadron, ....anyone else have this experience?

my treatment was cellcept(mycophenate mofetil) for about six months its slow to rise but now count is at 105. there are hardly any side effects hope they are better now

I have low count for three weeks btw, but sometimes it depends on each individual case. Sometimes these things resolve on its own.

Hi everyone I too have had low platelets since being diagnosed 9/25/12 cant get out the danger zone and have tried all those that you speak of nrcoach plus 100 mg of predisone I have tapered down to 10mg and my count started rising as I tapered off the pred now at 18000, last week 14. on 12/21/12 i started the Nplate injections 1 dose for the next ten weeks prayerfully I will get above 30 to get out the danger zone as long as I am not having a bleeding episode I keep the faith and go about my day as normal as possible pray n 4 us all every1 have a very merry christmas

Well Kym, hope all continues to go in the right direction for you with n plate. I'm allowed only 1 more dose at the max amount since I haven't responded to it yet. I think the rituxin has kicked in though. No signs of bleeding/bruising/mouth sores. Next appt/CBC is Wed. 12/26. Keeping fingers crossed for higher count.
