My husband was disgnosed with a platelet disorder. He was told that he has the correct number of platelets but they do not work correctly. He was told that he does not have Glanzmans or von. No one has been able to tell him what he does have. He just had surgery and required 12 units of platlets, 4 units of blood and 2 of fresh frozen plasma. Also many doese of desmopresin and CRYO. We are looking for a very experienced dr in the tampa florida area. Thanks!

I live in Hudson, FL, near the gulf. My hematologist for the past 6 years has been Dr. Gail Wright of Fl Cancer Specialists. I have had ITP for 22 years and have had quite a few hematologists and treatments during that time. Dr. Wright and I make decisions together on treatment and she really listens. I highly recommend her.
