Give the Rituxan time. It can take several weeks after the last treatment before results can be seen. It is common for counts to increase/decrease during the treatments. I refused the Splenectomy when it was mentioned. This is an old school proceedure. There are several treatment options for ITP. Once the Spleen is removed, there is no replacing it. Without the Spleen, you are more likely to get a serious or life threatning illness. Even a common illness takes longer to recover from. Agree with the Dr. With a count of 1k, you need to be CAREFUL. What do you do for a job?
The BMB will be sore for a few days.
